Scope of services
Candor Bookkeeping provides bookkeeping and accounting services and Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax classification analysis. Candor Bookkeeping is not a CPA firm, is not a tax preparer, and does not prepare or file tax returns.
Classification is not tax advice
Classification analysis identifies how a project appears to classify under Arizona's contracting rules, based on the facts you provide and on the guidelines as described by the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR). It is not tax advice, and it is not a filing position. Returns, filing positions, and any representation before a taxing authority are the responsibility of your CPA or tax preparer. Where a classification affects a return, it belongs with your preparer.
The Classifier
The classifier on this site is a free educational tool. It applies published Arizona Department of Revenue guidance and the underlying statute to the facts you enter. It does not know anything about your business beyond what you tell it, and its output is only as accurate as the facts supplied.
Genuinely ambiguous cases exist, and the tool is built to say so rather than guess. Using the Classifier does not create a client relationship, and its output is not a substitute for professional review of your specific circumstances.
No warranty. The Classifier is provided as it is. No representation is made that any output is accurate, complete, current, or suited to a particular situation. Statutes, guidance, and rates change, and an answer that was correct when given may not stay correct.
No reliance. An output is not a classification determination, not tax advice, and not a filing position. No duty of care arises from anyone's use of it. A person who acts on an output does so on their own decision and carries what follows from it.
Misuse. Presenting an output as advice, as a determination, or as work performed by Candor on someone's behalf is a misuse of a free educational tool, and the person who does that is responsible for the consequences.
These terms reach everyone who uses the Classifier, client or not. An engagement with Candor Bookkeeping neither adds to them nor takes anything away from them.
No guaranteed outcomes
Nothing on this site promises a particular tax result, audit outcome, or savings. Statutes, guidance, and municipal rates change, and this site may not reflect the most recent change at the moment you read it.
Engagements
Services begin only under a signed engagement letter, which governs scope, fees, confidentiality, and the treatment of your records. Nothing on this site is an offer or a contract, and submitting the contact form does not create a client relationship.

Links to ADOR pages, statutes, and the Model City Tax Code are provided for your own verification. Those sources govern. Where anything on this site conflicts with them, they are correct and this site is not.
