Company File
A QuickBooks Online file whose settings, chart of accounts, products and services, lists, opening balances and bank connections are set up to match how your business operates, instead of left at QuickBooks' defaults. There are two engagements.
Migrate converts an existing QuickBooks Desktop file to QuickBooks Online. Before the conversion, you receive a written note of what will transfer, what will not, what will change, and the cutover date. Afterward, the trial balance, the receivable and payable aging, and every account balance are compared line by line between the two files, and you receive that comparison.
Create & Configure builds a new file for a business that has none, such as one run from a bank account or a spreadsheet. You receive a memo listing each opening balance and the document it came from.
Both include the finished file in your own QuickBooks subscription; a written build note explaining how the chart of accounts is organized and why, which rules were created, what did not transfer, and what should not be changed without asking; and a walkthrough of the file.

Cleanup & Catch-Up
For books that are behind, were set up incorrectly, or can no longer be relied on. The work brings your QuickBooks Online file to one that reconciles, is categorized consistently, and has a structure that fits the business.
It starts with an assessment of the file, which sets a not-to-exceed figure for the work. You receive a written scope memo from the assessment whether or not you go ahead.
At the end, you receive the corrected file, reconciled through the agreed period; a balance sheet and profit and loss for those periods; a reconciliation report for every account; notes on how the chart of accounts, item list and tracking are set up and why; a one-page summary of findings for your tax preparer; and a list of anything that could not be resolved.
Where the file shows earlier periods reported under the wrong classification, Arizona's voluntary disclosure program is one option, explained on its own page.
Ongoing, monthly · For any small business
Monthly Bookkeeping
Your books kept current each month. Transactions are categorized, every account is reconciled, and a balance sheet, profit and loss, and list of open items are delivered by the 15th of the following month, once your documents are in.
A review call each quarter is included. At year end, your tax preparer's adjusting entries are recorded back to the closed year.
Flat fee, yearly · For Candor's bookkeeping clients
Preparer Package
The year assembled for the person who prepares your return, and delivered to them at your direction, so they start with a complete year.
It includes the trial balance and financial statements for the year; a reconciliation summary for every account; schedules of fixed asset additions and disposals at cost, loan balances with payments split to principal and interest, and owner draws and contributions; payments by vendor, with the information on hand for your preparer's 1099 decisions; prepaid and accrued amounts, listed rather than adjusted; and open items.
A one-page cover memo states the basis of accounting, the period covered, what is included and what is not, and each matter left for your preparer to decide. Opening balances are checked against last year's filed return, and any difference is stated.
Available for years Candor kept through Monthly Bookkeeping, or brought current through Cleanup & Catch-Up.

Compliance Review
A written review of how your construction projects classify under Arizona's transaction privilege tax rules, and where your records do not support the treatment you applied. It does not require any other Candor service.
Candor reviews between ten and twenty of your projects, using all the documentation for each, and classifies each one under Arizona's contracting rules: MRRA versus modification, what counts as an alteration, and when a threshold changes a contract's treatment. You receive:
- The classification of each project, the rule that decides it, and what in your documents supports it
- Each place your records do not support the treatment applied: how it happened, the primary source for the rule, and a step-by-step correction plan
- Where your procedures failed or were missing, and what to put in place
- Training material for the staff who bid, contract and bill
- A call to walk through the results
The report is yours whether or not any other work follows. Where it finds that the books themselves need correcting, that work is Cleanup & Catch-Up.
The Classifier is free and works one project at a time. The Compliance Review examines ten to twenty projects together.
The fee is $250, fixed. More than one entity, or work in several states, is quoted first.
Where other work goes
Candor handles the books and the classification. Returns, and any position taken on them — including the TPT filings themselves — belong with your CPA or tax preparer.
Payroll routes to your payroll provider. Income tax preparation and audit representation route to your tax preparer.
Negotiating a voluntary disclosure with ADOR is representation, and Candor does not act in one.
